Description

ROST, a transmission line routing system, given a set of start and end coordinates of the proposed transmission line, calculates the most economic path – based on the type of land, elevation of the places, placement of objects – between the two given points. Both the cost of running the line through an area and placement for the foundation of the tower
are taken into consideration while calculating the least cost path. This system has been already used and has given reasonable paths for the projects it was used in.
